How To Help Children And Youth That Suffer From Nervousness
Tense - Stressed
Without help this can seriously affect learning and success in living. Staying calm enough to learn and practice is extremely difficult. Tension can be very hard on the child or youth’s body and self-esteem. Being nervous, jumpy and stressed out can become habitual. It can become a focus of teasing and taunting. Tension and stress can be due to and complicated by a combination of: genetic factors; chaotic family patterns; learning and developmental challenges; depression, anxiety and other mental illnesses; Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder; too much stimulation; over expectations; lack of success; living with fearful circumstances; too much stress; prolonged stress; nutritional imbalances; exposure to environmental pollutants; digestive disorders; serious illnesses; exhaustion; lack of skill relaxing; emotional and/or physical discomfort from unhealed physical trauma (accidents, falls) and abuses of all kinds (physical, emotional, sexual, intellectual).
